No, not mine. Someone picked up a new truck today and joined the diesel club.

So who got that?
Anyone know when the automatics changed from the 47/48RE to the new transmissions? Do they hold up better? Are the tow/haul modes actually useful now?

Re: Check out the new truck
Oil filters are cheap. They are only $12 from the dealer, which is not bad at all. Oh and welcome to $75 fill ups. Just a word of advice, and I am sure others would disagree with this, but a little wise birdie that used to work for a Dodge dealer told me to change by fuel filter at every oil change, cause it was the life of the truck. I change my oil every 5000 to 7000 miles.

Robbie, you are kidding me right? I figure Doug's response would have given it away.
Have no idea about the new transmissions. Josh might be able to answer that question better.

$75 did not fill mine up in Mcalester, and that was $2.49 fuel.
I still disagree with the changing the fuel filter every oil change. A dirty filter is not going to let through any more trash than a new one. You just stand the risk of it clogging and you not going anywhere, as they don't have a bypass. I carry a spare and the tools to change it with me.
Speaking of, that little birdie needs to email me at robbie at cowtownjeeps dot com since I don't have his email address.
Doug, Geno's Garage is your friend. Here's the Fleetguard Stratopore oil filter for $13.

Fuel Filter for $14

Those puppies are $40+ at the stealership.

Robbie you can disagree all you want, but when it comes to that I will take Josh's word over yours since he is in the industry and saw issues with our trucks on a daily basis. Your truck, do what you want.

The guy that sweeps the floor is "in the industry".
I'm not picking on Josh, I know he knows his shit, but I've had MANY a service writer tell me shit that was horribly wrong. Just being "in the industry" does not make you an expert.
Hey, it's your money, blow it if you want

Re: Check out the new truck
I swear Robbie you would argue with a fence post. We aren't talking about any other service writers. I was specifically referring to Josh. That is okay though. Hey Josh, tell Robbie to go get fucked next time he needs help with his truck, since you "are in the industry".

Re: Check out the new truck
I use Mopar, but most people use Fleetguard which is the Cummins brand filter I believe. You can get them at the Cummins house or www.genosgarage.com . Josh was telling me that he uses Baldwin filters. Trouble with that is if you don't live near a dealer then it is hard to use them, plus 9 times out of 10 they have to order them, at least the one near us does.
So did you get your truck fixed from two months ago?
