OK so Tulip has been on me about posting my axle table. probably because he knows his housings are under the knife...
I got this table from a guy that peddles in machinery buying and selling stuff all the time. I have been after him about a table he has had for years and when he found another similar he snatched it up for me. I got this table for 100 bucks. We used a forklift to put in the in the back of my truck. This was truly the most weight I have had on my truck before. It squatted my rear to the bump stops. When I unloaded it I used my Kubota Tractor and I could only lift it about an inch and Hoop had to pull the truck out from under the table.
the table is German made. There was a wet grinder-polisher made for making drill bits. The machine was bad and had not been operational for years. It took me about 2 hours to disassemble the machine just to get down to the bare table.
The table top is about 2 inches thick solid with a machined perfect flat surface with a wet mote all the way around it for fluid drain off. This is the perfect table for transmission, transfer case and rear axle work. The bottom cabinet is made of 1/2 thick steel plate. The bottom has leveling jacks on all 4 corners. The table top is about 2.5 feet deep and about 5.5 feet long.
i wanted a table just fro axle assembly and this is it. I wanted to build some stilts to mount 2 Rigid brand chain style pipe vises to mount the axle but after not being able to dint two the same at pawn stores and after being shocked at the price of new ones I decided to improvise. i ended up using some tube, C channel and 2 HF chain style vice grip pliers. This turned out to mount it very rigid to the table. In fact i dont believe it will move one damn bit...
here are a couple pictures.
Enjoy, JOSH[img][/img]
