    Tulips Wheel Empty Tulips Wheel

Post by Anvil Recovery Thu Jun 18, 2009 11:59 am

I got Tulips wheels from Hoop the other day... This wheel has really made me think twice about the Walker Evans wheels. I really like the Black wheel... The polished ring is actually one of Hoop's rings because I took Tulip's to be powder coated along with his CO2 tank...

I took a Monster can and matched up the color. It ended up being called Granny Smith Apple Green. They will first coat them with a chrome silver to make the green more vibrant and flashy and then the green goes on... After that they will have a third powder coating that is a clear with a mini gold flake!!! KA-POW! MEGA TITS!!! I say the same color coated on a bicycle frame without the metal flake and it was really vibrant and a deep color. I saw in one of the sample templates the same color with the flake and it really makes it all shine!!!

Very nice choice... As soon as the green rings are done I will post pics before mounted and after mounted with tires...

Ok These pics look pretty cool but still dont portray how cool the color is but you get the idea...
I will get some pics of the rings mounted tomorrow!

Enjoy Tulip and hopefully I picked out a good combo between the green and gold flake clear coat...

this is another one without the flash trying to get the full justice of the flake. It just dont work though,,,

Later I will mount them up to the tires and I will weigh the wheel before and after mounting.

because the wheels are powder coated also the threads were not in shape to be wadding bolts into. I tapped every hole. I would have mounted the tires on but I forgot to pickup valve stems and lugnuts. Tomorrow for that...

In post 6 of this page you can see the lug nuts I have are just open ended acorn nuts and there is jsut barely some sticking out and will be hard to get on and off with out rounding them off or scratching the wheel so when i come up in a couple weeks we will go shopping for lug nuts.

Also I installed super short valve stems so not to pull them off with rocks...
